In 2024, Canadian cyclist, former U.S. Marine, and above-knee amputee Jakob Kepka cycled 1,200 km across Ukraine, raising awareness and support for prosthetic care for wounded veterans. After overcoming cancer and reaching full remission, Jakob is taking on an even greater challenge.

On August 24, he will begin a 2,000 km journey from Lviv to Kyiv, raising funds for vital prosthetic care for Ukrainian veterans.

BCU Foundation is proud to partner with Roxolani Trust on a new initiative to provide generators, power stations, solar panels, and other critical power solutions to hospitals, schools, group homes, and vulnerable communities across Ukraine.

Thanks to a generous $100,000 matching commitment from the Whitmer Trudel Charitable Foundation, founded by Robert and Francine Ruggles, we are working to raise an additional $100,000 to help ensure essential services can continue despite ongoing attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

We are proud to share the incredible results of the BCU Financial Matching Campaign, held during our Annual General Meeting and continuing for two weeks thereafter.

As part of BCU Financial's & BCU Foundation - Фундація Будучність's ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine during these challenging times, we are proud to stand alongside community leaders who are making a meaningful difference.

We are pleased to once again collaborate with Joe Hube and the Niagara Sunflower Festival for Ukraine Relief, a grassroots initiative that brings people together in support of an important cause. Through his fundraising efforts and our matching funds, we were honoured to contribute $11,000 to the St. John the Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church (St. Catharines) Humanitarian Aid for Ukraine Fundraiser, which plays a vital role in sending containers of essential supplies directly to Ukraine.

This initiative reflects the power of community-driven action, where compassion and dedication lead to real impact for those affected by war. Supporting efforts like these allows us to continue extending help where it is needed most.
We are grateful to our members and partners whose ongoing support makes contributions like this possible—together, we are helping bring hope and relief to Ukraine.
