(English below) Quel héritage souhaitons-nous laisser? Depuis que ses parents ont acheté cette propriété sur le versant sud des monts Sutton, au Québec, en 1949, M. Arnold Raymond a vu grandir la forêt et la faune qui l'habite.

Il a choisi de confier ces 34 hectares de forêt afin qu'ils demeurent protégés pour les générations futures, tout en rendant hommage à ses parents.

What legacy do we want to leave behind? Since his parents purchased this property on the southern flank of Québec's Sutton Mountains in 1949, Arnold Raymond has watched the forest and the wildlife that call it home thrive.

He chose to donate these 34 hectares of forest so they will remain protected for generations to come, while also honouring his parents.

Protéger la forêt boréale, c’est protéger bien plus qu’une parcelle de terre.

Des paysages sains et connectés soutiennent les espèces sauvages, la population et les systèmes naturels dont nous dépendons tous.

Dans le cadre du projet Lacs et forêts Kabenung, nous avons protégé plus de 8 100 hectares dans le nord de l’Ontario. La portée des retombées s’étend bien au-delà des limites de la propriété, et notre travail ne s’arrête pas là, puisqu’un autre grand projet de conservation se profile à l’horizon! When we protect the boreal forest, we’re protecting so much more than a piece of land.

Healthy, connected landscapes support wildlife, people and the natural systems we all depend on.

Through the Kabenung Lakes and Forests project, we conserved 8,100 hectares in northern Ontario. The impacts reach far beyond the property boundaries, and we’re done yet. Another big conservation project is on the horizon!

Did you know that the great blue heron plays a key role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems? By feeding on fish, insects, and small animals, it helps keep populations in check and keeps wetlands healthy.
