🦃 TWICE the food, twice the gratitude! ❤️

Before Thanksgiving arrives, please help us ensure more neighbours can experience the comfort of a warm meal and the reassurance that someone cares. Thanks to a matching gift, your generosity today will go TWICE as far to provide meals and support for individuals, families and children facing hunger.

Would your family know what to do in case of a fire? 🔥

Creating a home escape plan is crucial for every member of your family. Fire Prevention Week is the perfect time to make sure they are prepared in case of any emergency. Here’s what to do:
1. Know two ways out of every room.
2. Practice your escape.
3. Set a safe outdoor meeting spot for everyone.

Fire won’t wait. Remember to plan your escape as a family.

Lifting spirits one plate at a time. 🦃

For more than a decade, SPM Financial has helped local families celebrate Thanksgiving by donating turkeys to The Salvation Army London Community Services.

200 turkeys were shared across the city, some at The Salvation Army Centre of Hope - London, some with our Corps, and the rest here at London Community Services at The Salvation Army Hillcrest Community Church. 🙌

By the end of the afternoon, 101 residents had a turkey to bring home for their Thanksgiving table. Thank you to SPM Financial for contributing to this meaningful tradition. ❤️

Kerri was in foster care when she met her now mom at a Salvation Army daycare. Ever since she was adopted at seven years old, she’s been going to Cariboo Hill Temple where her parents worked. Now, she works at that same church.

Her experience in the foster care system allows her to relate to the young girls she works with through The Salvation Army’s BRAVE program. BRAVE is a movement to inspire and empower girls through events across the country, meeting people where they’re at and encouraging them to become their own advocate.

Kerri runs one of the largest BRAVE programs in the country. Before she got the job, she was unemployed and discouraged. Kerri felt God guiding her to the position to uplift young girls in the same way she was uplifted when she was young.

Wildfires spread fast, but prevention starts with you. When enjoying outdoor fires, remember that safety always comes first.

A few simple steps can make a difference:
✅ Check your local bylaws and restrictions before lighting a fire.
🌬 Avoid burning on windy days.
🔥 Use a designated fire pit and keep your fire small and manageable.
🚫 Never leave a fire unattended and always extinguish it completely.

By following restrictions, you can help prevent wildfires, protect your community and save lives.
