Sharing Education

Since 1972, ALPHA Alternative School has helped students to “acquire the knowledge, skills, and values they need to become responsible members of a democratic society” (TDSB Mission Statement). In order to nurture democracy, school must become “a genuine form of active community life, instead of a place set apart in which to learn lessons” (Dewey).

Dear ALPHA Families,
It’s that time of year when we come together to support our school community through the ALPHA *Envelope Campaign*, one of our biggest fundraisers of the year!

What is the Envelope Campaign?
The Envelope Campaign is an annual fundraising initiative that invites families, friends, and extended community members to contribute to ALPHA’s Registered Charity. Donations directly support a wide range of student-centered initiatives such as funding the an annual camping trip, welcoming, special guest visitors, enhancing the classroom, creating an equitable and enriching experience for all of our student students.
This year, our recently approved budget requires us to raise at least $7,000 through the Envelope Campaign - we have just over $3,000 raised so far.
