Street Health Announces New Executive Director and Board Chair!

The Street Health Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Christina Van Sickle as Street Health’s next Executive Director, effective June 1, 2026.

Based in Toronto, Christina has over 20 years of social work and leadership experience. She began her career working in community mental health as an addiction counsellor, before moving into hospital leadership working in a multidisciplinary, unionized environment with a focus on care for older adults. For the past 10 years Christina has worked in the regulatory sector where her focus was on policy development, governance, risk management, and public protection.

Christina is passionate about collaborative, transparent, and relationship-driven leadership. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to return to her professional roots and apply the knowledge and experience she has gained to support Street Health and work with other community partners to improve the wellbeing of community members through advocacy and the promotion of social justice, low barrier care and harm reduction approaches.

In addition, the Board is pleased to announce the election of Princess Doe as Board Chair, effective May 19, 2026. Princess has served on Street Health’s Board of Directors for the past three years and brings a strong understanding of governance, advocacy, and systems change to this governance role, alongside a deep commitment to Street Health’s mission and the communities it serves. She is a lawyer with a professional background spanning public interest litigation, corporate law, and social work. Prior to law, Princess worked in frontline community health and harm reduction settings, experiences that continue to shape her leadership approach and commitment to equity, dignity, and person-centred care.

After four years as Board Chair, Jann Houston will be stepping down as Chair and will continue to serve on the Board as a Director.

The Board of Directors looks forward to this next chapter and invites the community to join us in welcoming Christina Van Sickle and Princess Doe to their new roles.
