Accessibility progress deserves recognition—and accountability.
One reason to feel hopeful this National AccessAbility Week is that accessibility plans are now required for thousands of organizations across Canada. That's an important step toward identifying barriers and creating change.
But a plan alone isn't enough.
Many accessibility plans still lack clear timelines, measurable outcomes, or meaningful accountability. Real progress happens when commitments lead to action.
As we celebrate the gains we've made, we also recognize the work that remains. Accessibility isn't a checkbox—it's an ongoing commitment to building a Canada that works for everyone.
