THCC members and volunteers had the opportunity to attend Chile Day (May 11–12, 2026), joining a high-level forum focused on investment, economic policy, and strengthening Canada–Latin America relations.

The event brought together senior representatives from the Government of Chile, including Minister Francisca Toledo (Minister of the Environment), alongside other Chilean authorities and government representatives participating in discussions on sustainable development, investment frameworks, and long-term economic confidence.

From the Canadian side, the event featured key institutional voices and industry leaders, including representatives from financial institutions and keynote speakers from Canada’s business and investment community, contributing perspectives on capital markets, cross-border investment, and economic collaboration.

A recurring theme throughout the sessions was that long-term investment is driven not only by tax structures or incentives, but by predictability, institutional trust, and policy stability that allows capital to be allocated with confidence.

THCC values the opportunity for its members and volunteers to be present in spaces where Canada–Latin America economic dialogue is actively shaping the future of trade, investment, and collaboration across the hemisphere.

At the Toronto Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, we are proud to introduce the first session of Beyond Borders: Canada & LATAM Business Forum—a strategic platform connecting businesses, ideas, and opportunities across the Americas.

This high-impact session brings together two seasoned keynote speakers in a powerful and complementary sequence. It begins with “From Local to Hemispheric: Unlocking Canada–U.S.–LATAM Markets,” offering a strategic outlook on scaling across borders and leveraging Canada’s position as a gateway to larger markets. It then transitions into “Empowering LATAM Economies through Climate-Smart Innovation,” focusing on how sustainability and innovation are driving competitive, future-ready growth.

Featuring Zack H. Abdi and Alia Abbas, this session highlights a sustainable solution to transform and monetize food waste, combined with strategic insight on investment attraction and sustainable economic development.

Attendees will gain practical knowledge, actionable strategies, and a clear roadmap to make their projects more feasible, scalable, and aligned with today’s global market realities.

Receiving a wonderful visit from Mexico; an inspiring professional representing a binational business association whose perspective and experience remind us of the immense potential that lies within cross-border collaboration.

As it is often said, when one door closes, many others open. In today’s shifting global landscape, marked by supply chain realignments, evolving trade agreements, and a growing appetite for diversification, new pathways are emerging for Canada to deepen its commercial ties with Mexico and Latin America as a whole.

From agri-food and manufacturing, to mining, technology, logistics, and professional services, we are witnessing a renewed momentum. Canadian businesses are looking south with greater intention, while Latin American partners are increasingly seeking stable, strategic entry points into North America. This alignment creates real, tangible opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors, and organizations willing to think beyond borders.

This is exactly the type of insight and perspective, that we aim to bring forward through initiatives such as Beyond Borders: Canada & LATAM Business Forum, creating space for meaningful dialogue and real opportunities to emerge.

If you have not yet reserved your ticket, this is a great opportunity to do so. Here is the link:
