Camp BUCKO

Camp BUCKO is a camp program in Ontario for kids ages 7 to 17 recovering from burn injuries. Camp is open to burn survivors between the ages of 7-17.

Adult burn survivors may be involved as volunteers at camp. The camp has grown to over 70 children attending the week long camp in August. We will help arrange transportation for campers all across Ontario. We have had campers from other provinces attend our camp if there was not a burn camp for them to attend in their home province. We are a registered charity providing the program through genero

us donations from firefighters associations, service groups, and other public and private organizations. A board of volunteers from across Ontario plans for camp all year. With the donations we receive we are able to fully fund each child attending camp, transportation to and from camp and each child to receive a camp shirt. Health providers, firefighters, adult burn survivors, and burn support staff attend camp to support the experienced Cedar Ridge Camp staff.

For their annual Senior Management Retreat, the fine folks at Jamieson Laboratories pick a different community project to support every year. This year, they chose Camp BUCKO and not only did they donate a fabulous $5000, but they also put together amazing take-home gifts for this years campers! No, we're not going to ruin the surprise by revealing what these are, but we will say their management team so competitive that they put all 110 together in record time!

Thank you Jamieson Laboratories for choosing us this year, your support means the world to us!

On hand for the cheque presentation on April 30th were former camper turned volunteer turned new-this-year Camp BUCKO board member Callahan (wow, that's a mouth full), as well as our very own Operations Coordinator Sherry!

A heartfelt shoutout to the awesome Collingwood Firefighters who brought a truck and crew to visit the Jamieson Team! Thank you so much!

Coming up this later month, Life After Burns is hosting their 4th Annual "Thriving After Burns" event. Camp BUCKO will be on hand with an information table, so drop by to see us while at the event!

As long time supporters of Camp BUCKO, the Electrical Safety Authority Social Commitee holds many fundraising initatives throughout the year that benefit our programs. These include hosting bake sales, 50/50 draws, Valentine Candy Grams, and many other innovative events. One of our regular supporters, The Bearded Villains - Ontario South West are holding another fantastic "Beards for BUCKO" event in support of the Camp!

Come out and show your support on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The event runs from 11:00am to 6:00pm at Railway City Brewing ( ) 130 Edward Street, St. Thomas, Ontario.

We know events like this can't be done alone, so we would like to further extend our appreciation to and for supporting the in hosting this fundraiser.

On Saturday we hosted one of our annual events that fall outside of camp week, BUCKO in the City. It is an excellent opportunity to visit with friends, fellow campers, and to introduce new families to all that is BUCKO.

This year we were honoured that long time supporter, and Camp BUCKO camper, Alex took the opportunity to present us with the proceeds from one of his many charitable efforts. The funds were raised through the sales of his homemade creations at Christmas markets this past holiday season.
