We’re excited to introduce a new resource called Now is the Journey, a workbook created for kids and youth with facial differences to help them explore their feelings, build self-acceptance, and feel more accepted for who they are.

For children growing up with a facial difference, having resources that acknowledge their experiences and remind them that they are not alone can make a meaningful difference.

This workbook can be a starting point for conversations about identity, confidence, belonging, and embracing what makes each child unique. It may also be a helpful resource for parents, caregivers, educators, and others supporting children with facial differences.

As Craniofacial Acceptance Month draws to a close, we would like to share a message from Brigadoon Village, one of our Camp Trailblazers partners.

Camp Trailblazers is truly a life-changing experience for so many of our campers with facial differences.

Just because CAM is coming to an end doesn't mean the fun stops here. Stay tuned to our social media for updates about the 2027 camp season and when registration opens.

Last night, the Government House in Newfoundland and Labrador was lit in recognition of Craniofacial Acceptance Month. Thank you so much for your wonderful support.

September is Craniofacial Acceptance Month in Canada. This month helps strengthen awareness and build acceptance of facial differences. Over two million Canadians live with a facial difference, which may be congenital, acquired through an accident of illness, or episodic.

🎤 We’re Looking for Speakers!

Do you have lived experience with facial difference and a story, experience, or advice you’d like to share with children and youth?

AboutFace is looking for adults and young adults with facial difference to lead a virtual Children & Youth Speaker Series session. This session will include a pre-recorded webinar with a presentation created by you on a topic of your choice.

Sessions are informal and conversational, with opportunities to share your experiences, answer questions, and connect with young people in the facial difference community.

This Craniofacial Acceptance Month, we’re celebrating the life-changing impact Camp Trailblazers has on children and youth with facial differences, and the lasting connections that continue long after camp ends.

Sophie knows that impact firsthand. She first attended Camp Trailblazers as a camper, and this year, she returned as a camp volunteer, helping create the same sense of belonging, confidence, and joy for the next generation of campers.

Each year, we offer bursaries to help children and youth with facial differences attend camp. These bursaries help ease the financial pressure families may face and ensure that more kids have the opportunity to experience the magic of camp.
