International Fellowship of Christians and Jews of Canada

International Fellowship of Christians and Jews of Canada The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews of Canada provides care, comfort, and rescue for suffering Israelis and Jews in danger and distress.

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews® of Canada was founded by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein to promote greater understanding between Jews and Christians and to build Christian support for Israel and other shared concerns. Like its sister organization in the U.S., the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews® of Canada operates under the leadership of Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, and is

governed by an independent Board of Directors representing both faiths who share our strong belief in building bridges between the Christian and Jewish communities.

Shabbat Shalom.

As the candles are lit, light fills the home.
Peace fills the heart.
Tonight, families gather. Prayers are whispered. Hope is renewed.

But many of our Jewish brothers and sisters are still waiting — for comfort… for provision… for peace.

Your prayers. Your compassion. Your support.
They bring light into the darkness.

May His peace fill your home tonight.

Lyubov can no longer see the faces of her grandchildren.

At 90 years old, this Holocaust survivor has lost almost all of her eyesight. Yet when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren come to visit, she still insists on cooking their favourite soups.

"I do everything by touch," she says.

Lyubov survived war, hunger, anti-Semitism, and years of hardship. She remembers a time when food was so scarce that if a crumb of bread fell on the ground, her family would pick it up and eat it.

Today, support from IFCJ Canada helps provide food and comfort to elderly Jews like Lyubov.

When asked what that support means to her, she answered simply:

"I am grateful that people remember me. That someone remembers me."

"Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God." - Leviticus 19:32, NIV

Sometimes the greatest blessing is simply peace.

A quiet moment.
A deep breath.
A reminder that God is still near.

As Shabbat begins, may your soul find rest, your family find joy, and your heart be strengthened with hope.

“The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.” - Psalm 29:11

According to a recent report from , reported anti-Semitic incidents increased by 9.3% last year alone.

Behind every statistic are real people — families, seniors, students, and members of the Jewish community who deserve to live in safety, dignity, and peace.

As Christians, we are called to be peacemakers and bridge-builders. Scripture reminds us, "How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1, NIV).

Now is the time to choose understanding over division, compassion over indifference, and friendship over fear.

Together, we can stand against hatred by raising awareness, encouraging respectful dialogue, and supporting our Jewish neighbours.

At the top of a dark stairwell in Odesa, 16-year-old Pasha and his father, Michail, live in a single room with little more than hope to sustain them.

When the power goes out — as it often does — they lose heat, light, and even running water. Michail stores water wherever he can, while doing everything possible to care for his son, who lives with severe vision and hearing impairments.

"The boy is growing, and he needs to eat," Michail says.

With rising food prices, medical expenses, and reduced income, each day brings new challenges. Yet through it all, this devoted father refuses to give up on his son’s future.

Thanks to caring supporters, IFCJ Canada helps provide food, medicine, and monthly assistance that brings relief to families like theirs during difficult times.

"They give something like a light at the end of the tunnel," Michail says. "A small ray of sunshine that somehow makes things warmer and happier."

Today, Jewish families across Ukraine continue to face uncertainty, poverty, and hardship. But compassionate friends like you can help ensure they do not face these challenges alone.

Your generosity can help provide food, medicine, and essential care to vulnerable children, families, and elderly Jews in need.

In a restless world, Shabbat reminds us to slow down.
To breathe.
To pray.
To remember what truly matters.

Tonight, as the sun sets and Shabbat begins, may your home be filled with peace, your heart with gratitude, and your spirit renewed by God’s presence.

“Six days work shall be done, but the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest.” - Exodus 31:15

Shabbat Shalom from all of us at IFCJ Canada.
