On May 12th, Patti accepted the 2026 Toronto Community Champion Award on behalf of Thunder Woman Healing Lodge Society. We are deeply honoured to be recognized for our contributions to the health, well-being, and resilience of Toronto residents, particularly Indigenous women and their families in our community.

Miigwetch to the City of Toronto, the United Way Greater Toronto, and especially the women in our community who continue to lead, inspire, and guide this work every day.

A special thank you to Mayor Olivia Chow and Heather McDonald from United Way Greater Toronto for this meaningful experience and recognition.

Miigwetch to the staff and volunteers who came out and helped with Tkaronto Turkey Day. It was a long day. No Frills on Parliament St really messed up. The turkeys should have been available at 9am instead we didn't get them until 1:30. This left the community standing in line for hours and volunteers waiting. We will not be dealing with No Frills next year. Have a wonderful holiday season everyone.
