Tonight, Tuesday, May 19th, at 6:00 PM, all Seneca College Faculty, including Full-Time, Partial-Load, Part-Time, and Sessional professors, instructors, counsellors, and librarians, are urged to attend a hybrid General Membership Meeting, at which we will be reporting on recently-announced elimination of full-time positions at Seneca, and electing Officers for the upcoming term of office.

Registration is required for this meeting.

📢 RALLY FOR EDUCATION

Rallies have been organized for tomorrow, Wednesday, April 29th in Peterborough and Cornwall to support all education, K-12 to post-secondary, and to defend against Ford education cuts, especially the recently-announced merger of Fleming and St Lawrence Colleges.

OPSEU is organizing for a bus to transport interested GTA college faculty to the Peterborough rally.

Event: 11am-2pm Peterborough - Formal remarks and speeches at 12.30pm at MPP Dave Smith's Office

Transport support - A bus will leave Seneca's Newnham campus in the morning of April 29th (boarding at 8:00 AM and leaving 15-30 minutes later) on the way to Centennial (leaving at 9:15-9:30), and then to the rally. The bus will leave Peterborough for the trip home at 2:30-3:00

Wear colours: red or purple

If you cannot attend, we encourage you to support your colleagues who are fighting for education on that day -- by making signs, sending cases of water, and/or sending snacks with the bus.

Join us tomorrow, Friday, March 20, 2026, 3:00 PM for our very first hybrid episode of Union Station where we sit down with Part-Time and Sessional Faculty to discuss bargaining! Bring a beverage of your choice to learn more about how you can get involved in the mobilization efforts as Part-Time and Sessional Faculty prepare to bargain for their first Collective Agreement.

James Braun (from Divisional Executive of the Part-Time/Sessional Team) and Greg Dickson (from the Bargaining Team) will be joining us live in the office for this episode of Union Station.

Union Station is Local 560's informal space for Faculty to converge and build community. Hosted by Maria Vasilodimitrakis and Benjamin Lujan, Union Station is a virtual, drop-in chat for Local 560 members to connect and be heard. 👉 Electing delegates to the College Faculty Full-Time/Partial-Load Divisional Meeting and Pre-Bargaining Conference, which is being held on May 7 - 9th, 2026.
👉 Electing delegates to the Part-Time/Sessional Divisional Meeting which is being held on May 23-24th.
👉 Discussing the Voluntary Exit Package.

All Part-Time, Sessional, Partial-Load, and Full-Time faculty are encouraged to join us.

Tomorrow, Friday, March 20, from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM, we will be connecting with Part-Time and Sessional Faculty over the phone to inform them of mobilization efforts as they enter their first Bargaining season.
