This is a reminder for all Full-Time and Partial Load Faculty to complete the OPSEU CAAT-A bargaining survey (link below).

We also invite Part-Time or Sessional Faculty to fill out the survey. Our contract faculty members endure a lot of instability, shifting between Partial Load and Part-Time/Sessional status from one contract to the next.

The survey will close on October 9, 2026.

Complete the survey to ensure your needs are discussed at the local and the provincial levels.

Local 560 Officers and stewards will be staffing tables at Newnham and S@Y campus to share information related to the Bargaining that is currently underway for Part-Time and Sessional faculty, provincewide. As an additional feature, we will be providing ice cream to all Seneca community at both campuses, to help raise awareness of faculty issues among students and staff.

Please swing by a table or an ice cream truck to learn more about bargaining developments, and help us to mobilize faculty in support of our collective bargaining!

Join your Seneca Faculty colleagues tomorrow Wednesday, August 5, at 6:30 PM for games, snacks and drinks at our summer social event, at Snakes & Lattes (600 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6G 1K4).

There is no charge, and you are welcome to bring a guest. In particular, we encourage Part-Time and Sessional Faculty to attend. It will be a chance to share our stories, as the process of bargaining the first Part-Time/Sessional Collective Agreement is underway.

Attention all Part-Time and Sessional Faculty

An important update from your Bargaining Team:

On August 19, the College Employer Council (CEC) indicated that they will bring a full non-monetary package to the bargaining table. While we will not know any further details until that day, we know this could have significant implications for your working conditions and the future of part-time and sessional work in Ontario colleges.

In the spirit of transparency, we are holding a town hall immediately following the end of our day at the table.
