Congress of Black Women Ontario Region had the pleasure to attend the 5th National Black Canadians Summit in Winnipeg – Sept. 17 to 20, 2026. With the theme “Moving Forward Together”, the summit saw over 1000 Black Canadians in attendance, bringing together leaders, youth, professionals, artists, advocates, and allies to explore systemic challenges affecting Black communities while fostering collaboration and cultural expression. Some highlights: The Black Justice Strategy… provides opportunity to advance safer communities, greater equity and stronger outcomes. Find out more about this and sign the petition. Excellent workshops, unlimited networking, and connecting with folks from Ontario who I did not expect to see … it was well worth the trip!
Meeting up with Congress sister from Congress of Black Women Manitoba was even more special! They were community partner! Love it! Also in attendance was Congress of Black Women London Chapter.
