We are pleased to offer the Published Authors Critique (PAC) Program for unpublished authors of romance fiction as part of the Northern Hearts Conference!

This exciting opportunity gives unpublished writers a chance to connect and get critical feedback from published authors, and is free with your Northern Hearts registration. Register here: https://www.torontoromancewriters.com/nhc

Each participant will be paired with a published author mentor, who will read the first 7,500 words of their completed romance manuscript and offer suggestions and feedback on the work to prepare for agent or editor submission, or for self-publication. They will also be able to participate in a Q&A session on the Sunday morning of the conference to discuss how to break into the industry.

To be eligible for this program, unpublished writers must not have traditionally or self-published original romance fiction in at least 5 years. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once you’ve registered for the Northern Hearts Conference, send us an email at [email protected] to register for the PAC.

While the term might be new, writing love stories in a supernatural world has been popular since the days of ancient myths and fairy tales. With the emergence of some breakaway hits and a growing fanbase, what does it mean to write romantasy today? Writing duo Kit Rocha, Leslye Penelope, and Kimberly Lemming Author will discuss writing in the fantastical, in conversation with Smart Bi***es host Sarah Wendell.

Join award-winning novelist and journalist, sketch comedy writer-actor, improv comic, teacher, and public speaker Minister Faust for a dynamic workshop to discover tools that countless writers and artists use to accelerate their creative output, and then decode your relationship with creativity so you can reactivate it and take it to the next level.

Minister Faust is an award-winning novelist best known for "The Coyote Kings of the Space-Age Bachelor Pad" and "Shrinking the Heroes." He's also an award-winning print journalist. He's been a radio host-producer, television host and associate producer, sketch comedy writer, video game writer, playwright, and poet. He has spoken and taught workshops widely.

We are so excited for the Northern Hearts Conference Breakfast Keynote address by Jackie Lau! Have you read her latest, "Love, Lies & Cherry Pie" yet?

Northern Hearts takes place virtually September 20-22. Tickets available here: https://www.torontoromancewriters.com/nhc

Jackie Lau decided she wanted to be a writer when she was in grade two, sometime between penning “The Heart That Got Lost” and “The Land of Shapes.” She later studied engineering and worked as a geophysicist before turning to writing romance novels. She is now the author of over twenty books.

Jackie lives in Toronto with her husband, and despite living in Canada her whole life, she hates winter. When she’s not writing, she enjoys gelato, gourmet donuts, cooking, and reading.
