The Icelandic Canadian Club of Toronto (ICCT) is a group of people interested in learning and sharing Iceland’s unique culture, arts, history, literature and language in the Toronto area. This interest covers a wide variety of topics, from the initial settlement of Icelanders in North America circa 1000 AD to such work of contemporary musicians, authors and artists. The Logberg Heimskringla is hosting a writing contest! The top submissions for each category will be featured in the May issue of the LH. Please notify the LH which category you are submitting for. Prizes will be awarded for the winners of each category.
3 contests will take place:
Short story contest
Historical piece contest
Young writers’ contest
Contest rules:
Stories and articles must be submitted to [email protected] by May 1st 2026
Content must be appropriate for LH newspapers.
Young writers are considered under 25 years.
The historical piece and the young writers’ contest can be also be poetic in nature. Open to multiple types of content.
Prizes will include a year online subscription to the LH a physical copy of the edition of the article and a Iceland coaster.
