JOIN US FOR A UOFT STUDENT RALLY ON MARCH 13th @4 PM

On Oct. 2024, after the encampment for Palestine on King College Circle, UofT released a series of ridiculous protest guidelines. This is an infringement on our right to protest. You can find a link to the full guidelines in our bio.

Student protest and activism on campus have historically been important vehicles of change for many different movements. We are currently seeing a world-wide rise in fascism and authoritarianism. Whether its OSAP cuts in Ontario, ICE raids in the US, Palestine Action bans in the UK, etc…

It’s also on our campus.

Speak up ! Strike the protest guidelines !

Colonialism is the root of the climate crisis. Marginalized peoples in both the Global North and South are disproportionately affected by environmental degradation, displacement, and pollution --- despite contributing little (virtually nothing) to the rapid warming of our planet.

Here at ClimateJusticeUofT, we recognize the inherent relationship between climate/environmental issues and social inequality/injustice. Do you want to help others and make the world a better place… but may not know where to start? Have you been wanting to get involved with or simply curious to learn who we are? 🌍 RSVP at the link in our bio!

We welcome you to our orientation on Friday, September 26th, 2-4pm, outside at the UC Quad (Sir Daniel Quad) ⭐️

Come learn about our campaigns, the historical and current context of environmental issues, and experience hands-on organizing at orientation next Wednesday! 🔔

There will be snacks and crafting supplies provided, bring your friends! 🪲🦀🐡

If you cannot make it, sign up at the member form in our bio or RSVP for orientation and we will email you 👑

Why is Line 5 such an urgent problem? This infographic is a brief introduction to that! 📚

Don’t let US decision-makers condemn us to a future of oil spills and drinking water insecurity in the Great Lakes. Tell Michigan to DENY permits to Enbridge at https://www.endline5.ca or link in bio 🔥

We don’t need Line 5 expansion. We need a 👏🏽 LINE 5 CLOSURE 👏🏽

📣🚨 URGENT 🚨 📣

Join Indigenous grassroots activists, land defenders, and water protectors on JULY 1ST, 2-5PM, QUEENS PARK against Bill 5, Bill 97, Bill 54, Bill 14 and 15, Bill C-15, Bill C-2.

These provincial and federal bills create dangerous loopholes for governments to bypass any consultation or engagement with First Nations governments, as well as proper environmental assessments. Bill 5 for example, removes the legislature’s regulatory oversight in the new “Special Economic Zones Act”, giving full purview to Doug Ford and his cabinet to carve out Special Economic Zones and its conditions. This is highly undemocratic and watchdogs have coined this bill as representative of “authoritarian populism”. Indigenous peoples worldwide are the greatest protectors of our home’s biodiversity; Canada continues its colonial violence by putting Indigenous bodies on the frontline of destruction and the felt impacts of climate change.

🌎 These bills also affects everyone’s labour rights, weakens refugee protections, expands the surveillance state, and affects our health and safety (clean water to drink, whether there will be pollution cleanup, clean air to breathe). This is environmental racism.

So please, come join , Idle No More Ontario, Idle No More Toronto, and Indigenous activists across Turtle Island to fight for our future and stand in solidarity against colonial exploitation and violence!! ✊
