🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride Season!

From June through September, communities across Canada come together to celebrate the strength, resilience, diversity, and contributions of 2SLGBTQI+ people. Pride Season is a time to honour the history of advocacy and progress, recognize the ongoing work toward equity and inclusion, and celebrate the many ways people express who they are.

At Hospice Palliative Care Ontario, we believe that every person deserves compassionate, respectful, and person-centred care. During Pride Season, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering welcoming and inclusive environments where everyone can be seen, heard, valued, and supported.

Together, we can help create communities where diversity is celebrated and everyone belongs.

June is National Indigenous History Month — a time to recognize and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, languages, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing impacts of colonization and to consider how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.

This month, we encourage everyone to take time to learn through Indigenous voices and experiences by reading Indigenous authors, attending community events, listening to Indigenous artists, and exploring the stories, knowledge, and traditions that have shaped this land since time immemorial.

As we learn, reflect, and celebrate, let us honour the resilience, strength, and diversity of Indigenous communities and commit to building relationships grounded in respect, understanding, and reconciliation.

This week, we recognize and celebrate the dedication, compassion, and expertise of paramedics across Ontario during Paramedic Services Week 2026.

Paramedics are there for people on some of their hardest days — providing expert care, comfort, reassurance, and life-saving support in communities large and small. From emergency response to community paramedicine and hospice palliative care, their impact reaches far beyond the ambulance.

Thank you to all paramedics for the care you provide every day and for the difference you make in the lives of patients, families, and communities across Ontario. 💙
