Have you applied to be a vendor at Momiji Holiday Market yet? 🎄

Apply now for a chance to join us at our 4th annual Momiji Holiday Market in Scarborough on November 28th! This event typically welcomes between 600 and 700 people, including tenants of our seniors residence, their families, and our broader community of supporters.

As always, Momiji Holiday Market invites applications from all artists, artisans, crafters, makers, and entrepreneurs. The theme of the market is primarily gift-giving, as well as the holiday season, which leaves room for a large variety of vendors!

Vendor applications will be open until midnight on Monday, October 12th! We're already going through applications and filling up our prospective floor plan with an amazing selection of vendors. The list of accepted vendors will be finalized on Tuesday, October 13th, with responses to ALL applications going out between October 14th and 16th.

3 Days Until Bazaar!!

What's another thing that makes the Momiji Bazaar so special? The food, of course!

This year, our Chow Mein and Sushi tables have combined into a Japanese Foods table! You can find them in the same place, with the same freshly prepared chow mein and inarizushi, plus a new addition this year of Japanese pickles. Japanese Sweets (manju) and Bake Table will be returning to cover the dessert course!

If you want a sit down meal, drop by our Auditorium for the Dining Room or our garden for Street Food! Some returning favourites include chicken karaage and a teishoku plate, plus some new menu items like taro chips and a kabocha squash chili donburi.

Join us at the Momiji Bazaar this year to fill up on some delicious treats!

4 Days Until Bazaar!!

What's something else that makes the Momiji Bazaar so special? The treasures!

Buying second-hand is trendy again, and for good reason! It can be economical, helps reduce waste, and you can find some truly unique items. When you buy from the Bazaar, your money is going to support a charitable organization that serves your community, rather than a corporation over-producing low quality items to make a profit.

Some of the donations we get have been treasured by people for years, meaning they've stood the test of time. Each year, guests and volunteers will comment on something they find among the Bazaar donations, saying "I haven't seen one of those in a long time!" or event, "My mother had one of those when I was young!".

We always get some truly special donations, from vintage clothing to collectible ceramics. And we get plenty that may not be rare or unique, but will still be a great find for a great price!

5 Days Until Bazaar!!

What's something that makes the Momiji Bazaar so special? The volunteers, of course!

Every year, the Bazaar is supported by hundreds of Momiji volunteers. For some, it's the one time of year they join us, while others are regular volunteers. They all work hard to ensure the Bazaar runs as smoothly as it can.

Volunteers organize menus, prepare food, and package it for sale. Some food is prepared weeks in advance and frozen, some is prepared the morning of the Bazaar, and some is prepared to order right in front of you!

Volunteers also move boxes and bags of donations, unpack them, sort through items, price, and arrange displays for them. Their work turns a messy pile of stuff into the Bazaar displays that draw people in to buy!

The Momiji Community Bazaar is right around the corner!

Even though it's in October this year, you can find the same great deals on quality second-hand items and delicious food prepared by our volunteers. Money raised from these sales supports the programs and services Momiji offers our seniors.

This year, we're bringing back the Silent Auction, welcoming community partners like Nikkei Books and Toronto Buddhist Church, and we'll be hosting a Livestream Viewing Party for the JCLS Monument Unveiling right after Bazaar!

It's sure to be a busy day on top of the usual treasure hunting in departments like clothing, jewellery, books, Pink Elephant, White Elephant, and more! For extra energy, make sure to drop by the Auditorium for the Dining Room, Garden for the Street Food, or Atrium for pre-packaged food. From manju to BBQ, we've got something for every taste bud!
