The leaves are turning, the splash pads are closing, and Toronto is about to choose a new Council. Over the next four years, its decisions will shape how we experience our parks in every season.

Our 2026 Parks Platform, built on hundreds of ideas from Torontonians, sets out four ways the next Council can build a better city through parks.

Read it, then ask your candidates where they stand before you vote on October 26.

What a way to wrap up the summer! 🌿

We gathered at Biidaasige Park in Toronto to celebrate the incredible work of champions and community groups who are making our parks more vibrant, welcoming, and our neighbourhoods more connected and resilient.

It was great to spend the afternoon together, share a meal, connect with so many of you, and explore the new extension of the park. A special thank you to the Biidaasige Park team for showing us around and sharing the knowledge of this incredible space.

“Joy is part of how we make long-term collective effort livable.”

What role do social connections and joy play in climate adaptation?

In a new op-ed published in Spacing, we explore how gathering, building relationships, and making climate action more social, participatory, and fun can help communities be more resilient.

Climate adaptation is a long-term effort. To keep showing up for it, we need ways of coming together that feel meaningful, hopeful, and even joyful!

It was great to see so many people come together to explore and celebrate landmark projects that have helped reshape Toronto’s waterfront, and to hear from the people and organizations behind them.

Thank you to O2 Planning and Design, Jane’s Walk Toronto, and all the speakers and participants who made the afternoon so engaging. We loved being part of it!
