Osgoode Society for Corporate Governance

Osgoode Society for Corporate Governance "Business. Governance. Guidance." The OSCG aims to promote education and outreach on good corporate governance practices.

Closer to a pro bono student initiative than a club, the Osgoode Society for Corporate Governance recognizes the importance of corporate governance in improving business performance, developing capital markets and promoting ethical business practices and standards in emerging economies. As a collective, we have a partnership with the International Finance Corporation's Global Corporate Governance

Forum (the "Forum") (see www.gcgf.org), to assist them in their mission to support and promote improved corporate governance practices via local initiatives in emerging economies and developing countries. Specifically, we collaborate with a group of corporate governance experts around the world who form a Private Sector Advisory Group ("PSAG") working on behalf of the Forum (to find out more about PSAG, see http://www.gcgf.org/ifcext/cgf.nsf/Content/PSAG).

Our Story

The Osgoode Society for Corporate Governance (OSCG) is a student-directed, non-profit and non-partisan organization at Osgoode Hall Law School. The OSCG recognizes the importance of corporate governance in improving business performance, developing capital markets and promoting ethical business practices and standards in emerging economies. Our mission is to support the development, dissemination and implementation of best practices in corporate governance. Good corporate governance requires organizations to combine legal knowledge, ethics and business judgement. With the guidance of faculty, alumni and the legal community, the OSCG strives to create a platform from which students can learn and obtain practical knowledge about corporate governance issues on the global and local level.
