Ujima Fathering Centres - formerly YPF

Ujima Fathering Centres - formerly YPF Engaging community leaders to identify young fathers who will benefit from this opportunity and provide critical feedback.

Ujima Fathering Centres - formerly known as Young and Potential Fathers (YPF) - addresses the cycles of disengagement, lack of resources and lack of visible role models for young racialized fathers. Since the organization’s inception, we have come together to identify and recruit youth from the community to lead this initiative and to ensure youth are significantly involved in the planning process

. (The organization formerly called) YPF continues to develop the initiative by:

Conducting a series of forums focused on young fathers and their children

Developing and distributing questionnaires and surveys amongst youth in the priority neighbourhoods. The initiative has secured a space in Weston Mount Dennis one of Toronto’s priority neighbourhoods. The space is approximately 2,500 square feet each nad houses comprehensive programming for young Black men who are learning how to overcome the personal and systemic challenges young men & fathers face.
