The Big 12 Conference is a collegiate athletic conference in the United States. It consists of 16 full-member universities. It is a division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). This fall the Big 12 Conference plans to co-brand its football and basketball programs with Monster Energy.

These amazing journalists worked for over a year researching this. Now, science is science no matter who funds it, but what is more concerning is the study design. Would Red Bull, or any company, pay for research that gives their product a bad name, or demonstrates safety concerns?

This is a must read, it demonstrates the tactics used to keep or boost ED sales. Search the media outlet 'The Examination' to find the article.
There is also a very interesting article on their site showing how they used AI to trace relationships between academics and Red Bull!

"Consumption of energy drinks containing high concentrations of caffeine has been shown to result in significant increases in both systolic and diastolic blood pressures in healthy adults. In contrast, green coffee bean extract has been shown to decrease both systolic and diastolic blood pressures in adults, particularly among individuals with elevated baseline levels. These contrasting outcomes may be attributed to differences in caffeine concentration and the presence of other bioactive compounds such as taurine in energy drinks and chlorogenic acid in coffee with opposing effects on blood pressure."

"India's food safety regulator said on social media in early July it had issued notices to companies saying there were no Indian standards for such products and claims that a beverage "vitalizes body and mind" or can "aid in general weakness" were misleading." The regulator has now given companies 90 days to comply and remove the term "energy drink" from their products.
