CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
STEAM POWERED THEATRE in partnership with THE HUMAN CANVAS PROJECT is pleased to announce an open call for models.
THE HUMAN CANVAS PROJECT is a body-art project that examines who we are, how we are perceived and what we are becoming. Over the past year, Matti McLean has painted hundreds of people as a part of the project and is looking to expand his roster to give everyone equal representation.
• Models will be painted live at The Toronto Fringe, in a visual art tent inside the Honest Ed’s Fringe Club
• This tent will be open to the public to view the work in progress
• Models will be booked for a 30 minute session, please allow for an extra 10 minutes for clean-up or finishing touches
• Models are encouraged to wear clothing they are comfortable in, and recognize may get paint on, please select your attire accordingly
• All paint used is acrylic and water-soluble.

Tuesday July 9th 6:30pm to 8:00pm (3 time slots available)
Thursday July 11th 6:30pm to 8:00pm (3 time slots available)
Saturday July 13th 5:30pm to 7:00pm (3 time slots available)
STEAM POWERED THEATRE and THE HUMAN CANVAS PROJECT strongly encourage all interested applicants to submit. We also encourage submissions from applicants of diverse backgrounds, non-traditional ‘Model’ body shapes, and persons with disabilities.
Please note, models will be photographed upon completion of the painting by Matti McLean for THE HUMAN CANVAS PROJECT and this photo may be published on facebook and used as part of THE HUMAN CANVAS PROJECT’s ongoing artistic collaborations.
