So true. In PET, parents learn The Method III (win-win) approach to resolving conflicts which communicates to kids that parents think their needs are important, too, and that the kids can be trusted to be considerate of parental needs in return. This is treating kids much as parents treat friends or their spouse. This method feels so good to children because they like so much to feel trusted and to be treated as an equal. 😊
