This National AccessAbility Week, take action with BALANCE.

BALANCE for Blind Adults is looking for volunteers to support our upcoming assistive technology Demo Fair - a hands-on event showcasing accessible technology and resources for people who are blind or partially sighted.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on accessibility experience, learn about assistive technology and sighted guide support, and help bring a welcoming, practical Demo Fair to life.

Volunteer roles may include event support, wayfinding, registration, and sighted guide assistance. Training will be provided.

Accessibility is about more than just awareness.

National AccessAbility Week highlights the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and removing barriers in our communities, workplaces, and everyday experiences.

At BALANCE for Blind Adults, we know that awareness is only the beginning. Through our programs, services, and events, we work to create opportunities for people who are blind or partially sighted to participate fully in their communities, workplaces, and everyday lives.

Accessibility means creating environments where people can access information, build skills, connect with others, and pursue their goals with confidence and independence.

This week, we celebrate the progress that has been made and recognize the work that still needs to be done to build a more inclusive and accessible society for everyone.

As part of this commitment, BALANCE is hosting our Assistive Technology Demo Fair, which brings together technology, service providers, and community partners to showcase practical tools that support accessibility, independence, and inclusion.

We look forward to welcoming attendees on June 16!

Accessibility changes what’s possible.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day is an opportunity to recognize how accessibility shapes what people can do: at work, at school, online, and in daily life.

For people who are blind or partially sighted, accessible tools and technologies can support independence, confidence, participation, and connection.

When accessibility is practical, it can change what someone is able to do: reading information, joining a meeting, learning something new, participating more fully, or participating more fully in their community.

To see accessibility in action, register for BALANCE for Blind Adults’ upcoming Assistive Technology Demo Fair on June 16 in Toronto.

Building stronger pathways to work

BALANCE for Blind Adults’ Assistive Technology Demo Fair brings together tools, services, and partners that support accessibility, employment, and inclusion.

We’re pleased to recognize MentorAbility as part of this year’s event.

MentorAbility helps connect employers, people who experience disability, and employment service providers through meaningful mentorship opportunities that support workplace inclusion.

That practical, employment-focused approach aligns closely with the goal of the Demo Fair: helping people better understand the tools, technologies, and supports that make work, learning, and participation more accessible.

Join us to explore assistive technology in action.
