Gay Men's Sexual Health Alliance

Gay Men's Sexual Health Alliance We're working across the province to increase access to the health services we need to have the sex we want.

The Gay Men’s Sexual Health Alliance (GMSH) champions the health of 2GBTQ+ men in Ontario. We lead the development of cutting-edge sexual health promotion resources and collaborate with HIV service organizations and other service providers in Ontario to ensure 2GBTQ+ men have the information, supports and services they need to have the sex they want.

“Since U=U, most of the men that have mattered in my life didn’t care about that part. They cared about me, not these pieces of me.”

Here’s a short clip of our interview with Daniel for the new *xualhealthalliance campaign “If No One Ever Told You, We Will” 🌈

Daniel is a PhD student whose research focuses on q***r and trans mental health and fitness. He has been living with HIV for 29 years. In this clip he talks about the importance of testing, treatment, and trusting the science. 🤓🔬🥼🧪

We’ll be rolling out more video content from these interviews all summer so if you’re enjoying it, make sure to like, comment, save and share these posts so that the algorithm keeps us in your feed!

And of course, check out GMSH.CA to learn more about what we’re all about! 🔥

June 5 is HIV Long-term Survivors Awareness Day. ❤️
Back in 2020, *xualhealthalliance commissioned several portraits and asked for some words of wisdom to commemorate this day.

Alphonso, diagnosed in 1990, had this to say:
“I was terrified by all of the deaths. I don’t know how I would have survived had someone not taken me under their wing. Mentorship is so important - connect with the older generation.”

HIV long-term survivors include anyone who:

🔸 acquired the virus before 1996 and the introduction of highly active antiretroviral therapy
🔸 has been living with HIV for over 10 years
🔸 aquired HIV at birth or as young children

Modern treatments mean people living with HIV can have long and healthy lives. Getting tested can be scary, but it’s the only way to know. To find out more about testing and treatment, check out GMSH.CA

Throughout our campaign this summer we’ll be profiling some of our wonderful men’s health workers who are part of the community organizations that make up the GMSH 😎🌈

Darryl (he/him) hails from St. Catherine’s and has been working at for 6 years.

“Niagara Pride week is always one of the highlights of my year! Growing up, doing anything remotely gay usually meant making a trip to Toronto, so it feels special to now give back locally and enjoy the energy, the community and incredible mix of social and educational events.”

SWIPE THRU >>> to see more of what Darryl has to say!

Check out for what’s happening for the rest of the week before they close out the festival on the weekend!

It’s been a long winter and now it’s finally starting to warm up here in Ontario 🔥 We’re travelling, we’re showing skin, we’re getting flirty 😎

Not to be a wet blanket about it but it’s a good time to remind folks that mpox is still around! Most cases last year were in Toronto but this spring two travel-related cases of the more severe and transmissible strain Clade 1b were confirmed as well.

Less than half of eligible guys in Ontario finished getting two doses of the mpox vaccine imvamune - it’s not too late! Symptoms are not a good time, and the vaccine is highly effective in reducing symptoms in the event of a breakthrough infection.

Find out more at GMSH.CA/MPOX — if no one ever told you, we will! 😘

What’s something that you wish someone told you when you were younger? We’ve been sitting down with q***r guys from different walks of life to ask them that question! 🌈

And while we were at it, we’re asking for their s*x advice, thoughts on building community, relationship tips, memories from coming out, stories of misadventure, and so much more 🤩

So kudos mama, thanks for saying that! For spilling ✨

These are just a small peek at some of the interviews we’ve done so far. We’ll be filming and rolling out content all summer long with our campaign “If no one ever told you, we will (with love 😘)

Keep an eye out on this page and check out GMSH.CA to see the new design!

So many of us had to figure things out on our own. 😢

Today, *xualhealthalliance is proud to launch “If no one ever told you, we will (with love😘)” — a new campaign created to provide affirming, evidence-based s*xual health information and support for gay, bi, q***r, Two-Spirit, trans, and other men who have s*x with men across Ontario. 🌈

Alongside the campaign, we’re also launching the new ✨GMSH.CA✨ — a redesigned digital hub that brings together trusted information, prevention tools, service navigation, and community resources in one accessible place.

This campaign is rooted in real experiences and honest conversations about s*x, health, belonging, stigma, care, and community.

At its heart is a simple message: no one should have to navigate these experiences alone. 💕

We’re deeply grateful to the many community members, partners, and collaborators who helped bring this work to life.

Special thanks to for their creative and strategic partnership throughout this process, and to designer and illustrator for the powerful hero artwork anchoring the campaign launch.

Additional artists and community voices will be featured throughout the campaign rollout in the months ahead so keep your eyes on this page! 👀

Because if no one ever told you, we will. With love. 😘

Last week the *xualhealthalliance hosted another in-person alliance meeting over 2 days at community centre in Toronto!

Guest speaker and author .politicized.practitioner gave a terrific workshop on responding to harm with skill and care, which sparked a lot of great conversations about how we can bring both compassion and accountability to our work while also holding to our values.

We also discussed our exciting new campaign which launches tomorrow on May 15! We won’t spoil too much but get ready for a big splash ✨
