CVA’s primary goal is to ensure that government regulation is reasonable and practical, through the strategy of professional proactive communication and education supplied bilingually to health officers, media and elected officials. Much of the media coverage has focused on the potential downsides and risks of these products. We need to respond to these unfounded fears and communicate the facts and science regarding e-ci******es. We seek reasonable regulation that promotes the va**ng industry as a viable, safer alternative to to***co. Background and Principals:
CVA believes that Canadian health officials have valid concerns for public safety with the current unregulated environment of the electronic cigarette industry. E-liquid is not to***co. If properly regulated, e-liquid is an entirely new consumable product category which requires a new approach to its regulation. E-ci******es are not smoking cessation devices, they are a reduced risk alternative to smoking and considered a to***co harm reduction method. E-ci******es offer a powerful alternative to smoking, something that should excite anyone truly interested in public health. E-ci******es are not proven to be 100% safe, but are exponentially safer than to***co ci******es. E-cigarette sales and the number of va**rs are growing rapidly and are positively changing lives every day. As such, it becomes a necessity that the consumables are produced within reasonable standards and regulations that ensure the safety of the consumer.
