Loneliness at work affects more than morale — it impacts mental health, engagement, and a true sense of belonging.

As connection declines, stress and burnout rise. But when people feel supported and included, teams become healthier, stronger, and more resilient.

This Mental Health Week, let’s come together to create workplaces where open conversations are encouraged, relationships matter, and no one feels alone at work. Our latest article explores why workplace connection is essential — and shares practical tips and activities managers and teams can use to build connection every day.

This Mental Health Week, let’s come together through connection. 💚

We’ve partnered with local Toronto artist Toonie Stamps to create a limited‑edition set of six postcards, each inspired by one of Toronto’s six boroughs and the places where community comes to life.

Take time to pause, reflect, and write to someone you miss, appreciate, or want to reconnect with. When loneliness is increasingly common, simple acts of reaching out can support both individual and collective well‑being.

Pick up a postcard for free at our East or West offices, or have the full set shipped to you for a small fee -- https://heyor.ca/s38tno

Loneliness isn’t the same as being alone. It’s about feeling unseen, unsupported, or disconnected — and it can affect anyone, at any stage of life.

As part of Mental Health Week, we’re starting conversations about what loneliness really is, how it affects mental health, and why meaningful connection matters more than the number of relationships we have.

Connection starts with you.

Feeling connected isn’t always easy, and many of us are carrying more than we realize. This Mental Health Week (May 4 - 10), we’re offering a free workshop series rooted in connection and care, creating space to reflect on loneliness, burnout, conflict, and the emotional weight that often comes with supporting others.

These sessions invite honest conversation and practical reflection on how we can stay open, nurture meaningful relationships, and build more supportive, sustainable connections with ourselves and with each other.

Registration is now open - https://heyor.ca/mMeFTk

Mental Health Week is May 4–10, and this year, we’re coming together, Toronto 💙

At a time when many of us are feeling disconnected, Mental Health Week is a powerful reminder that connection isn’t optional—it’s essential to mental health.

The 2026 theme, Come Together, Toronto, invites us to show compassion for ourselves, for one another, and for our communities. Whether it’s checking in on a colleague, sharing a meaningful conversation, or taking a moment to reconnect with yourself, small acts of connection can have a meaningful impact.

Throughout Mental Health Week, we invite people across Toronto to come together in ways that strengthen belonging and reduce isolation in our city.

✔️ Register for a free workshop
✔️ Join the conversation using Mental Health Week toolkits
✔️ Donate to support community mental health

Stronger connections lead to better mental health—and it starts with each of us. Stay tuned for more ways we’ll be coming together this Mental Health Week. However you choose to participate, you’ll be helping make accessible, quality mental health care possible for people across Toronto.

Healing looks different for everyone. It can be quiet or shared, gradual or unfolding in small moments over time. There’s no single right way to begin, and no fixed timeline to follow. Each journey is shaped by personal experiences, needs, and circumstances.

Along the way, connection, through understanding, support, or simply showing up, can help make healing feel less isolating. As we reflect on mental well‑being, we’re reminded of the quiet impact of being there for one another.
