Newzapalooza

TORONTO, ON-TAAAAAA-RI-O — Kiddies, save the date for this year's edition of Newzapalooza, also known as "The Media Event of the Year," hosted on the northern shore of Lake Ontario. Hard to believe it's now 22 years since a bunch of Toronto-area hacks with musical talent of varying degrees first left their newsroom day jobs behind to compete in a media battle of the bands extravaganza, but here we are. We're back at it with another special live karaoke band edition, featuring the amazing The Approximators. True to our roots, it's a night to sing, cheer and have fun with colleagues and friends of Newzapalooza. Spread the word!

The deets: Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026 at The Duke on Queen St. E A benefit for the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada, as always. It’s for the kids!

Well, that was a load of fun last night! Newzapalooza 2025 at The Duke with The Approximators was simply awesome. Thanks to all who came out for a great cause, the Children's Aid Foundation of Canada. We're still counting the beans, but we've added to the more than $180K raised for the charity since our first show in 2004.
