We saw a critical need to educate the public about the co-occurrence of four types of family violence: child abuse, elder abuse, domestic violence, and animal abuse. We also identified the need for a pet fostering program that was specifically tailored to survivors of domestic violence and their pets. has been instrumental in helping to create SafePet Ontario, run by the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association.

Our Story

Link T.O. was established in 2017 by 3 women, with the goal of educating Torontonians about the “link” among four types of family violence: domestic violence, child abuse, animal abuse, and elder abuse. We also saw a critical need for a pet fostering program that was tailored to survivors of domestic violence. for survivors of domestic violence. Thus, we created our SafePet Program, inspired by the work of countless other such programs. We are proud to be a part of the SafePet Ontario network, and we work closely with community organizations, non-profits, and charities, throughout Ontario with the goal of ending family violence in our province.
