🛶 “Sport became the bridge back to myself.”

For Brianna Hennesey, paracanoeing became more than another sport.

After an accident in 2014, Brianna rebuilt her life physically and mentally. When she began paddling, she found a sense of power and calm.

Today, she is a Paralympic medallist in paracanoe and continues to pursue new goals across parakayak and wheelchair rugby.

Her story is about resilience, adaptability, purpose and community, and it’s one of the featured stories in the Summer 2026 issue of ParaSport® Magazine.
