Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls. ⚖️

This International Women’s Day, UNACTo joins the global call to dismantle the barriers standing between women and true equality.
Did you know? Globally, women hold only 64% of the legal rights that men do. At our current pace, it will take 286 years to close these legal protection gaps. We cannot wait nearly three centuries for justice.

From 9–19 March, the world gathers for the Commission on the Status of Women ( ) to place justice at the centre of the global debate. It is time to move beyond promises and toward enforceable rights for every woman and girl, everywhere.

Today, on the fifth annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the Survivors of the residential school system, mourn the children who were lost and stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities.

This year is particularly poignant as it marks the 10th anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Final Report. A decade later, the 94 Calls to Action remain a critical roadmap for us all.

Reconciliation requires more than just remembrance; it demands action. We encourage you to learn the truths of our history and find ways to be an active part of the change in your community. Let's all commit to doing the work.

Today marks the fifth annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day of solemn remembrance across Canada. This year also marks a decade since the release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Final Report, reminding us of the long journey we are on.
UNACTO joins the nation in honouring the Survivors of residential schools, their families and their communities. We remember the children who never came home and acknowledge the profound, intergenerational trauma that persists.
Reconciliation is not a passive act; it requires our active participation. We urge our community to move beyond reflection and engage in meaningful action. Learn the history, listen to the truths of Survivors and find ways to get involved in your local community.
