A huge thank you to everyone at Stratford Festival who helped spread the word about the payroll donations program during the opening week! ❤️

We're so thrilled that so many festival workers signed up to support The AFC through the QR codes featured on daily call sheets and the awareness campaign posters displayed on callboards. Let's keep the momentum going.

Is that a campaign poster peeking out from behind the tomato plant?? We see you! 👀 Turns out growing support for The AFC isn't the only thing growing at Stratford this season 🍅

Thank you for helping this campaign take root and blossom - it is proof that when we plant the seeds of community support, great things grow!

Between contracts, are you surviving, or strategically preparing for what comes next?

Here’s a simple 5-step framework for building financial stability as a gig worker, from shifting your mindset, to creating a flexible “Gap Plan,” to staying grounded through income ups and downs. Think of it as a starting point for moving from survival mode to something more sustainable.

We’re going deeper into this framework in an upcoming workshop with Credit Canada, designed specifically for folks navigating contract work and unpredictable income in the entertainment industry.

A huge thank you and a round of applause to the company of A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical, the local cast members from & Juliet, and everyone who joined us on May 25 for Love on the Rocks, a special one-night-only cabaret in support of The AFC and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Together, we raised more than $8,200 to help support people in the performing arts and entertainment community. We are deeply grateful to the artists who generously shared their talents and stories, and to every audience member whose enthusiasm and generosity made the evening such a success.

The night was a powerful reminder of the ways music and theatre bring us together, foster connection, and strengthen our community. Thank you! ✨

Accessibility matters every day, and National AccessAbility Week (May 31 - June 6) is an important reminder of our commitment to improving the accessibility of our programs, services, and events so that more people can access the support they need.

One of the organizations driving meaningful change for persons with disabilities in our sector is the Disability Screen Office. Don't forget to check out their Industry Resource Hub, as well as their newly released Reframing Access: A Best Practices Guide on Disability Inclusion in Canada’s Screen Industry.

We also want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing ASL interpreters who help make our workshops more accessible and inclusive for industry members across the country! 🙌
