IBD GEM Project

IBD GEM Project The Genetic, Environmental, Microbial (GEM) Project International Research Study into causes of IBD. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.

The GEM Project is an international research study being led by Mount Sinai Hospital attempting to determine possible causes for Crohn’s Disease by following healthy individuals who are at a higher risk for developing the disease over time. We encourage healthy individuals who have a sibling and/or parent with Crohn’s Disease to join the effort and help find a cause. If you have Crohn’s disease, w

e encourage you to ask your siblings and/or offspring to participate. If you have a full-sibling or parent that suffers from Crohn’s Disease and are between the ages of 6 and 35, we invite you to participate. Research Funding for the GEM Project has been generously provided by Crohn’s and Colitis Canada and The Leona M.
