Beginners are taught basic skills of sailing. The focus is on safety, seamanship and boat handling. Sailors are taught using Oppi and RS Feva sailboats. CANSail 3/4
Sailors work on advanced sailing techniques, including sail trim, boat tuning, boat maintenance, tr
apezing and the use of the spinnaker. CANsail 3/4 is taught using Club 420's. Participation in local regattas is encouraged. Opti Race Team
This team is for CANsail 1 or 2 graduates who have demonstrated a high level of proficiency and want to enter the world of competitive sailing. This team focuses on race tactics and skills. The team participates in sanctioned sailing regattas. This program can work towards achieving CANsail levels on an individual basis. Laser and Two Handed Race Teams
Geared for sailors interested in developing their racing skills and tactics. It provides a comprehensive knowledge of sailing theory. This program runs for 2 months and emphasis is placed on participation in provincial regattas.
