Spotted: Yves Trépanier and Paul Kuhn out and about this August in Calgary. 🐎

Fun fact about these gentlemen, Yves worked for Paul Kuhn Gallery before starting TrépanierBaer. And as of this year, Paul and his practice are represented by TBG. What a wonderful full circle moment.

Both have been longstanding members of the Association. 🧡

Calling all art lovers in Winnipeg and beyond, Mayberry Fine Art has officially opened Canada’s largest full service art gallery in the capital of Manitoba. 🌾 🧡

Mayberry Fine Art is a long-standing member of the ADAC and showcases a wide variety of incredible artists and artworks. We are excited to celebrate this next chapter in their history with them and welcome everyone to visit their new location at 661 Wall Street, Winnipeg.

Their Grand Opening Exhibition is on view now until August 27, 2026 during regular gallery hours. Bravo to the entire team on this outstanding achievement! 🎉

Congratulations are in order for Peter Ohler and his son Matthew for opening up their new location for Ohler’s Fine Art Ltd. in Calgary! 🎉

Ohler’s Fine Art Ltd., lead by Peter Ohler since 2018, and as the Western Canada Representative and Director of Private Sales for Cowley Abbott since 2022, is located at 3607 Confluence Way S.E., Calgary, Alberta.

We look forward to promoting and collaborating with Peter as he is reinstated as a full member of the Association with his new location.

This past weekend the ADAC and TOAF (Toronto Outdoor Art Fair) teamed up and presented “My First Artwork” at the 65th Toronto Outdoor Art Fair!

20 artists who exhibited both online and in person were selected to showcased their work throughout the weekend!

The ADAC Team saw and spoke to lots of people about best buying practices and finding artwork for $500 and under, plus we sold a few works of the artists selected to exhibit!

Big thanks to anahita, Lily and the team at TOAF for this opportunity! Special thanks to our volunteers; Aimee, Leanna, Treasure and Marianna for helping out this weekend! 💙

The ADAC is proud to collaborate and partner with the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair for our 3rd year in a row!

We’ll be back running the Budding Art Buyers Booth - where kids 0-14 can purchase artwork for $10-$20! Bring your allowance and take home a great price of art!

We’re also so beyond excited to announce a new booth, My First Artwork! This booth has been specially curated by the ADAC with artworks priced $500 and under. Perfect for young collectors to find their first work to start their collection.

The Art Dealers Association of Canada was saddened to hear of the passing of Douglas (Doug) Udell.

Udell Gallery and its predecessor, the Downstairs Gallery were former members of our Association, from the mid 70’s until 2016. Doug was a significant figure in the development of contemporary art in Alberta, and an advocate for artists, collectors, and the broader cultural community.

Doug passed away on June 10, 2026, at the age of 79. We wish Doug’s family, friends, and the Canadian art world our deepest sympathies. 🧡

One week ago today, on the opening night of our 60th Anniversary Pop Up, we launched the Avrom Isaacs Critical Writing Award.

The Avrom Isaacs Critical Writing Award seeks to recognize original, rigorous, and insightful writing that advances discourse on contemporary and historical art. It sustains a vibrant art ecosystem during a period when critical writing is increasingly underfunded. The award is open to graduate students across Canada studying art history or writing theory.

The Award:
Three recipients across Canada will each receive a $1,500 CAD prize - selected by a jury.

Recipients have the opportunity to have their work published in a leading Canadian writing forum.

This award will be given once every two years. Please consider donating today at the link in our bio.

Applications for the Award will be open on our website on June 25, 2026 and will close on December 11, 2026.

Opening night looks… 👀

While we come down from the excitement that was our
60th anniversary pop up exhibition, we are looking back at the outfits that people rocked.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on this monumental evening. We saw over 500 people come through the space with a few opening night sales! But the best of all? Was having the community come together and celebrate Canadian art.
