An initiative of The Sandbox Project, the Young Canadians Roundtable on Health (YCRH) was created in 2013 to empower the youth voice in matters of child and youth health. We are a youth lead team made up of 32 young people aged 15-30 from across Canada who provide leadership on issues impacting the present and future health of Canadian youth. Through research, discussion, independent initiatives a
nd advocacy, the YCRH is taking action to make Canada the healthiest place for all children and youth to grow up. Working collaboratively with industry, government, research, health practitioners and families, the Young Canadians Roundtable on Health’s objectives are:
•To be Canada’s strong youth voice in all issues relating to child and youth health
•To lead youth in creating independent initiatives and policy proposals in the areas of injury prevention, mental health, growing healthy bodies, and the environment
•To create opportunities to support and educate Canadian youth - with the goal of improved quality of health in youth across the country
•To develop new relationships with individuals and organizations involved in youth health issues
•To generate national awareness of youth health initiatives
