We are excited to invite you to an Indigenous Beading and Cultural Exchange hosted by Folklorico Filipino, Qjiel Mariano, and Marissa Magneson to celebrate Filipino Heritage month and Indigenous People’s Month.
Throughout the 2-Hour gathering, participants will be guided through a traditional Gaddang beading workshop led by Qjiel Mariano, an Indigenous Gaddang Artist and Global Health Scholar. He will be joined by Marissa Mageson, a Cree-Métis artist, photographer, educator, and workshop facilitator.
We will be discovering themes of water, relationship to land, Indigenous Advocacy, healing and more!
Participants are invited to bring offerings of food, sound, movement, nature, poetry, etc for the gathering.
