Yoga Without Borders is a registered Canadian charitable foundation, dedicated to the alleviation of poverty, the eradication of violence against girls and women worldwide, and the advancement of education in developing countries. YWB has been active since 2002, creating and contributing to a variety of humanitarian initiatives for local and international communities. In 2012, YWB was nominated fo
r Inspiring Community Organization of the Year. In 2013 it was incorporated as a not-for-profit charitable foundation. In 2014 and 2015, The Yoga Without Borders “Pads Matter” campaign provided reusable sanitary pads and underwear to hundreds of girls and women in Africa and Haiti. Angad Kaur, Chairperson of Yoga Without Borders, traveled with the President of The African Women Education and Development Partnership Forum to distribute supplies and provide educational programs in menstruation, hygiene and self empowerment to girls in Cameroon. In the Summer of 2016, Yoga Without Borders will be funding a new training centre in Cameroon, where girls and women will become economically stronger, sewing reusable sanitary pads, underwear and school uniforms. 2. (Health, Education, Rights)
Continuing support for training centres where girls and women are sewing reusable sanitary napkins, underwear and school uniforms, as well as distributing personal hygiene supplies for girls in Africa.
3. Peer Mentoring for Girls
A unique program dedicated to leadership and mentoring for girls around the world, while advocating for their health, education and rights. Yoga Without Borders declaration to end violence against girls and women:
"I declare that I shall not allow, support, or create the enslavement, mutilation, disgrace, abuse, or any other form of violence or dishonour toward any woman or girl in my presence, care or knowledge. Let it be known that as we move forward, this shall be the minimum standard for all peoples everywhere. So be it."
