Congratulations to Abena McRae, the last recipient of the 2026 BlackHRPC Marshall Workplace Law Scholarship Award!

Please join us in celebrating Abena’s achievement and her commitment to advancing workplace equity, human rights, and inclusive communities.

Abena is a third-year Governance, Leadership, and Ethics student at Huron at Western University. Following an internship with RioCan’s People and Culture team, she hopes to continue gaining HR experience before attending law school and pursuing a career in employment and human rights law.

Beyond her studies, Abena is an active leader in Black student communities and the founder of a Ghanaian student association at Western University.

What does freedom at work look like?
