Thinking about future STEM Career Pathways? Our 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆: 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 (𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝟭𝟭-𝟭𝟮) spent time this summer exploring what’s possible during a career panel with Nieuport Aviation at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport!

For many, this was a first-time look into the aviation world beyond the usual roles. From connecting with a pilot to chatting with professionals across business, tech, and operations, our youth got the inside scoop on how to turn an interest in STEM into a real-world career path.

Here’s what they explored:
✨ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀: How different pros turned their passion into airport & aviation careers.
💡 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘆: Exploring non-traditional roles in STEM, including operations, and business.
🛠️ 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀: What it actually takes to succeed in the industry after graduation.

Building strong partnerships allows us to introduce youth to new career fields, see themselves in STEM, and support their growth every step of the way. 🚀

A huge thank you to Nieuport Aviation for opening doors and helping our youth map out their future! ✈️

Are you thinking about a career in aviation? Let us know what role in the comments!

Having the right support changes everything ✨

That’s why we’re taking a moment to thank Actua! Their funding is directly powering our Catalyst programming, meaning we can expand our reach for youth’s access to accessible, hands-on STEM activities in their community.

This summer, our Catalyst program empowered 3,391 youth across 34 communities this summer with the confidence and foundational knowledge to thrive in STEM spaces.

Here’s a glimpse into Catalyst STEM activities from this summer:
🏀 Tracking personal shooting hotspots on the court and mixing up custom energy drinks from scratch
🍦Learning the delicious science behind making ice cream
🏗️ Competing to build the strongest structural designs
⚾ Discovering the science behind bouncy balls

We couldn’t do this without partners who truly believe in the power of what youth are capable of learning and building.

Thank you Actua for your partnership and commitment in creating opportunities to engage the next generation of STEM leaders 🚀

It started with a simple question: what do you want to learn today? 💡

That curiosity set the tone for an impactful day at Life at PointClickCare with our STEM Journey youth: Empower (Grades 8-10) & Launch (Grades 8–12)!

Youth got an insider perspective from leadership about how PointClickCare is using tech and AI to change the game in healthcare. A highlight of the visit included interactive career rotations and open “Ask Me Anything” chats with teams across:

💻 Engineering & Tech Support
📊 Sales & Marketing
👥 Human Resources & Workplace Experience

Our youth got to ask big questions, explored real-world career paths, and reflected on where their own interests could take them next. 🚀

Huge thank you to Life at PointClickCare for hosting such an inspiring kickoff visit! We can’t wait for the next session. ✨

That’s a wrap on STEM Futures Expo 2026 🎉

From heartwarming moments of community support, building curiosity in the next generation, expanding awareness of what’s possible today and setting goals for the future, our youth, partners, and community came together to celebrate our youth’s achievements and make this a day to remember ✨

⚽ Empower youth (Grades 8-10) engaged deeply with the public while presenting their Net-zero 2040 FIFA Stadiums & host city projects.
💼 Launch youth (Grades 11-12) connected with our amazing partners during a special brunch, then presented to community their discoveries and transformative experiences from their summer Internships & capstone projects.
🥽 The community explored a variety of Activations from Visions and our community partners, including a VR station, free barber, free henna, community paint by numbers, and so much more!

A huge shoutout to everyone that showed up, participated in our activations, explored projects and voted in the People’s Choice Awards and cheered for our youth at the award ceremony. You all brought the energy and made it an unforgettable day! 🙌🏾 🏆

And a massive congratulations to all of our Empower and Launch summer intensive youth, who blew us away with their incredible projects and internships. The dedication and effort you put in to your showcase projects is truly inspiring. 🚀

6 STEM Journey: Launch youth (Grades 11 - 12) spent 4 weeks levelling up their STEM skills in University of Toronto labs through summer internships with our partner WICTO

From operating lab equipment to carrying out the entire scientific research process, youth got the full lab experience and saw what pathways in chemistry can look like.

Fadumo (1st place winner at our STEM Futures Expo) researched how aerosol particles from wildfires impact climate change.
Bruce (2nd place winner at our STEM Futures Expo) tested the strength of microscopic, protein-like sheets under lab stress and captured high-tech images.

Other research projects included:
• Recovery of Valuable Metal from Battery Waste
• Imaging System for Nanoemulsion Synthesis
• Small Molecules Stability in Biological Medium
• Expression and Purification of an Antibody Binding Protein

A huge shoutout to the youth for your incredible hard work, and to WICTO for their partnership and paving the way for future scientists by creating inclusive spaces and opportunities for equitable access to pursue pathways in chemistry.
