Fall has officially arrived in Bloor West Village! 🍂🧡
 Golden leaves line the streets, crisp air fills the neighbourhood, and the smell of fresh baking seems to follow you from one stop to the next. 🥐

And on a day like today, there’s a lot to be thankful for in this community. For the friendly hello on the sidewalk, the familiar face behind the counter, the neighbour who always lends a hand, and the local businesses and neighbours who make the Village feel like home. 🧡🍁🛒

🍁 Fall (in love) with a new wardrobe season.🍂✨

The new season is here, and with it comes a fresh mix of layers, textures and rich autumn colours. Today, we’re taking a look at Parpar Boutique, one of the many fashion shops in the Village.

You’ll find soft knit cardigans, plaid shirts, leopard tees, lace-trimmed sweaters, layered blazers and funnel neck jackets, plus a beautiful mix of denim, from wide-leg and straight styles to the ever-popular barrel silhouette. Add a scarf, gloves, a hat, a belt or a bag for a finishing touch. 🧣👜

🍁 Join our Fall Colours Walking Tour with local nature expert and photographer Richard Bod

Richard will guide you through High Park, one of Toronto’s most spectacular spots for fall colours. A local nature expert, Richard has spent years working with the High Park Nature Centre, Toronto Wildlife Centre and the Owl Foundation. Along the way, he’ll share stories of the park’s history, wildlife and hidden corners.

🕰️ Then & Now: BMO Bank of Montreal, Bloor & Windermere

Back in the early days of Bloor West Village, the main street looked very different. Through the 1960s, the stretch of Bloor St W between Kennedy and Jane was lined with service stations and garages—a streetscape shaped by the automobile age, complete with the Jane Loop streetcar.

The Bank of Montreal first opened its doors here in 1927. The building was renovated in 1959 and again in 1969, evolving alongside a neighbourhood that was gradually shifting from auto shops and garages toward the storefronts we know today.

Nearly 100 years later, it still stands at the corner of Bloor and Windermere — a familiar landmark that has been part of Bloor West Village for generations. 🏦✨

A huge thank you to the Swansea Historical Society for sharing this historic photograph and the history of the BMO building in Bloor West Village.

The Bloor West Toronto Ukrainian Festival tradition has returned to our streets for three decades, filling them with varenyky, vyshyvanka embroidery, the swirl of a Hopak dance, sunflowers on every corner, and faces from across the city. 🥟🌻🇺🇦

As the festival winds down for another year, Bloor West Village is still here, warm and welcoming as always. Salons, boutiques, your favourite RMT, fresh produce shops, bakeries, cafes, and restaurants from every corner of the world, along with so many other shops and services that keep this village running, day after day.
