Grand Master's Notes from the East, June 10, 2025
As part of my ascent through the chairs to Grand Master, I have been paying attention to the men who joined Freemasonry in New Hampshire and how well they were able to work through the process. Back in 2020, I attended the Conference of Grand Masters of North America and membership was one of the main topics of discussion. The COVID pandemic that began in March of 2020, caused lots of candidates to be slowed or stopped in the process of attaining the three Degrees of Freemasonry.
Beyond that for many Brethren, life got in the way and for one reason or another they never completed their journey to become a Master Mason. I knew I had to do something to assist these new Brethren and as Grand Master I had the ability to do just that.
This past Saturday at the Manchester Masonic Temple I assembled two Degree Teams with fifty plus Brethren and with the help dozens of Brethren from around New Hampshire we accomplished our mission. At then end of a long day, 73 New Brethren had attained the Sublime Degree of Master Mason.
I have witnessed a lot of things in the past quarter of a century as a Mason, but being able to coordinate and be part of this event will be a shinning moment for me as Grand Master of Masons in New Hampshire.
However, like all things the success will be measured in years to come when the Masons of the 57 Lodges in the state make these new Brethren feel welcome and become long-term members of the greatest Fraternity in the world!
