Today, on September 30th, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This is a vital day to honour the strength and resilience of Indigenous survivors, reflect on our history, and commit to a future of justice and unity.

The image we shared today is based on the official Government of Canada design featured in our next slide. It honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, Survivors, their families, and their communities.
The feather, narwhal, and flower represent the distinct cultures of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. Together, they remind us of the deep connections across generations and the ongoing, shared journey of reconciliation.

Seeing Your Donations in Action: A Visit to Camp Maple Leaf
Earlier this summer, we got to do one of our favourite things: see the impact of your generosity!

We visited Camp Maple Leaf, a Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund grant recipient, and had a glimpse at the meaningful work they do every single day, creating transformative outdoor experiences for kids who need it most.

A huge thank you to Camp Maple Leaf for opening their doors and welcoming us in. The dedication, warmth, and heart we witnessed firsthand are a reminder of why the Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund exists, and why every dollar raised truly matters.
