On Friday June 26th, 2026 at the Pride Trans Rally and March the ETT 2SLGBTQIA+ Committee, ETT
members, ETFO, CUPE 4400, OECTA TECT, OSSTF, TDECE and marched with a clear message “Protect Trans Kids”. Teachers united to celebrate Trans lives in all their diversity and demand the dignity, safety, and rights that every human being deserves. Trans Rights are Human Rights.

On Sunday, June 28th, 2026, join the ETT for Pride Toronto’s annual Pride Parade. Before Pride Toronto’s annual Pride Parade, ETT members are invited to gather at the Bishop and the Belcher for lunch to celebrate our community and diversity at 11:30am. Pride Toronto’s annual Pride Parade starts at 2:00pm.

We Won’t Stop celebrating our vibrant diversity, honouring our history, and taking bold action towards equality. It is our commitment to celebrating the identities, experiences and expressions of our 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

It is our reminder that the rights and visibility had today were hard-won and that honouring this legacy means continuing the work. It is our rallying cry and reminder that the fight for freedom, inclusion and recognition is ongoing, and that every action, story and voice is essential to building momentum.

Today marks the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to honour and celebrate the rich cultures and meaningful contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We honour those who carry the joy of their cultures and traditions forward, inspiring others in their communities and beyond.

Across Ontario and throughout Canada, we celebrate Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, students, educators, workers, artists, leaders, community advocates, and all those who bring pride to communities across the country.

Together, let's take today to recognize, reflect, and renew our commitment to uplift Indigenous Peoples everywhere from our classrooms to our communities and beyond.
