Would it mean you’d have had more time to focus on your schooling? Your career? Your hobbies and what truly makes you…you? Would it mean you’d have time experience more life and less stress about the unknown? 👀🩵

At BrainBox we’re preparing teens and young adults with the skills they need to thrive in adulthood. When you know the basics it opens up your horizons to focus on the things that truly matter to you.

Hey, I’m Olivia 👋 In 2019 I founded BrainBox Education (if you’ve been here awhile you may remember it formerly known as The Youth Empowerment Program), and over the past 6 years I have been developing the business in the background.

The goal? Prep as many young Canadians as we can for life beyond the classroom with practical skills they actually need to thrive in everyday life.

While you’re here, tell me, what’s on thing you wish highschool taught you? 👀

Before you scroll, ask yourself, were you as productive as you could have been today? 👀

Productivity can seem extra difficult in an age where notifications bombard our phones every few minutes, we have days worth of information at our finger tips, and simply, we like to stay connected and be entertained!

If you’re struggling with productivity try out these tips:

🩵 According get outside as soon as you wake up. Don’t look at your phone, skip the coffee. Get your jacket on and head for a 10-20 minute walk. This will help to regulate your circadian rhythm, improve cognitive function, and improve your energy throughout the day.

🩵 Create a to-do list! Brain dump everything on your mind that you need to get done. Once it’s all written down (on paper or in your phone), you can then prioritize the tasks based on this hour, this day, this week, and so on.

🩵 With the above tip, use time-blocking so you have specific time slots for each task. You can then also get specific as this psychologically helps you get tasks done quicker. Rather than saying “I want to work out today”, get specific and say “I’m going to workout this evening around 7:30 for at least 45 minutes.”

🩵 Turn on DND on your phone. If you use it for work you can customize the DND function to allow notifications from certain people and apps, allow those and mute the rest. You’d be surprised how much of a difference this makes.

The Eisenhower Box, also known as the Eisenhower Matrix, is a game-changer for managing tasks and boosting productivity. It helps you decide which tasks to focus on and which ones to ditch by breaking them down into four categories:

1. Urgent & Important: These tasks need immediate attention—think deadlines, emergencies, or critical decisions. Prioritize these and tackle them first.

2. Important, Not Urgent: These are key to your long-term goals but don’t need to be done right away. Schedule time to focus on them so they don’t become urgent.

3. Urgent, Not Important: These tasks may seem pressing, but they don’t align with your main objectives. If possible, delegate them to free up your time.

4. Not Urgent, Not Important: These are time-wasters or distractions that add little value. Be honest and cut them out of your schedule.

Using this tool helps you focus on what truly matters, prevent burnout, and make smarter choices with your time. Try it next time you’re juggling a to-do list!
