What a thrill to interview this high-level creative!

Cayuga, Ontario is not only on the map for being home to a number of NHL hockey players and the first female Superior Court Judge in the British Empire, but one of its native sons is also award-winning Canadian filmmaker, Jeremy LaLonde, the prolific creator of o'-so-many relatable, quirky, honest, strangely sweet and heartwarming, and just plain FUN films that stand out in a crowded industry. And the characters in them…are CHARACTERS. "How to Plan an O**y in a Small Town", "James vs. His Future Self", "The Go-Getters"…the list goes on and on.

He's also the host of PB with Jeremy, an upbeat, wildly successful YouTube series that uses humour as that little spoonful of sugar to keep people from putting up their guards when he talks about plant-based eating.

Also a self-proclaimed -- if reading this aloud, be sure to enunciate VERY carefully -- former fat forker, he lost about half his body weight, largely from going plant-based.

Huge thanks to content creator, Elvis Deane, for doing the editing for this interview…as well as being the person who made me aware of this Canadian treasure. Full circle!

All-you-can-eat vegan brunch - August 11, 2024 11:30 to 1:30 - 560 Danforth Avenue, Toronto (inside Rivals Sports Pub)

The food guest always winds up being the most popular person in the room -- unless, of course, someone brings along a dog or another animal friend! Chef Lanre Onigbinde-Bey of 5 Principles Cuisines was no exception.

He's warm, he's cool, he's compassionate...and MAN can this guy cook!

We couldn't possibly be more grateful to our friends at The Anti-Vivisection Alliance - TAVA, ANIMAL LIBERATION KITCHEN, and to our anonymous donor (we wish we could shout her name from the rooftop of Wishbone, but we'll honour her wishes). We are deeply humbled. Thank you for your generosity.

Oooooo what a night! The John Sakars art exhibit reception was a huge success! Fabulous people, a great vibe, yummy food, delicious no-alk sparkling champagne…and of course, eye-candy artwork!

If you're sad and disappointed to have missed the chance to take home your very own "John Sakars", do not fret! The entire 55-piece collection is on display all through the month of July (and maybe August, too!). You can drop by Wishbone Animal Rights Lab Thursdays through Sundays between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to view John's thought-provoking artwork. Any prints purchased, John is generously donating 100 percent of the proceeds to the Lab. And good news: His original pieces are also for sale!

Here is his website to browse at your leisure: https://johnsakars.com/ (click on "My Paintings"). If you're interested in any of his body of work, you can contact him at [email protected].
