As Canadian businesses continue to diversify supply chains and strengthen their presence in the Indo-Pacific, Vietnam is emerging as one of the region's most dynamic sourcing and manufacturing hubs.

Strong momentum at the fully attended Vietnam–Canada Business Forum 2026 in Toronto on June 8, 2026, featuring Senator Yuen Pau Woo, Alan Bowman, Vina Nadjibulla, Bernie Derible, Saina Fan, MSc, Patrick Quealey, and from the Vietnam side: Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang, Ambassador Pham Vinh Quang, Dr. Quynh Tran, and many other distinguished participants.

Following the successful third Canada–Vietnam Joint Economic Committee meeting, the forum provided a platform to advance business connections and identify new opportunities for cooperation, including energy and defence.

Vietnam’s ongoing drive toward industrial upgrading, green transition, and supply chain diversification is creating strong demand for Canadian capabilities in clean technologies, infrastructure, agri-food, digital services, and critical minerals.

Canada's exports to Vietnam increased by 24% last year and surged by a further 62% year-over-year during the January–April period.

The forum was co-organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the Vietnam Trade Office in Canada and relevant Canadian partners: Global Affairs Canada, Export Development Canada, Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. Canada-Vietnam Trade Council provided support at the event.
