It's Mission and Service Monday! Here's your Mission and Service story leading into Sunday, August 30!

Good nutrition helps students concentrate, engage in their studies, and make the most of the opportunities that are presented to them.

The volunteers at Brock University's Ecumenical Chaplaincy cook meals in their own kitchens, package them in take-away containers, and replenish the freezer throughout the year.

As students start returning to campus, learn how your gifts to Mission and Service help to ensure students have access to nutritious meals and a caring community throughout the academic year.

It's Foundation Friday!

For people living with dementia, opportunities to socialize can be limited. Memory loss, changes in independence, and the challenges of everyday life can cause people's social circles and worlds to become smaller.

Cole Harbour Woodside United Church in Cole Harbour, NS, has created a welcoming place where people living with dementia, and their care partners, can connect, socialize, and enjoy time together.

For many youth and young adults, rising costs, uncertainty about the future, and increased feelings of isolation can make it difficult to find a sense of stability and belonging. Finding a community where they feel welcomed, known, and accepted can make a meaningful difference.

The Hub Community Network is creating welcoming spaces where youth and young adults can find connection, community, and a deeper understanding of God’s inclusive love.

Learn how your gifts to Mission and Service help youth and young adults find welcome and belonging in spaces of connection and community.

It's Mission and Service Monday! Here's your Mission and Service story leading into Sunday, August 16!

In Guatemala, Maya and Xinka Indigenous communities continue to rebuild after the genocide of the 1980s, while facing ongoing violence and repression. Breaking the Silence works alongside Indigenous partners to build relationships rooted in justice, solidarity, and mutual learning.

Through bursaries, Breaking the Silence helps remove financial barriers so more people can participate in human rights delegations and learn alongside communities in Guatemala.

Learn how your gifts to Mission and Service help strengthen relationships across cultures, support Indigenous communities, and create opportunities to work together for a more just world.

It's Emancipation Day!

The commemoration of Emancipation Day is a call to action to engage in anti-racism work, including anti-Black racism.

Your generosity is pivotal in pushing forward programs addressing racial injustice and fostering healing and connection, in creating supports that celebrate and nurture racialized scholars, and in convening events that bring together congregations to speak about racism and its effects.

Together, we are already challenging racism in many forms, and your support will help keep this work going. In the spirit of John 17, we are called to uphold justice for all God's people and live out the gospel. We cannot be whole unless all are whole!

Please give now to show your support for this vision and fight against the racism that is still present in our country, church, and culture: united-church.ca/social-action/justice-initiatives/anti-racism/donations-anti-racism-work

It's Foundation Friday! Here's this week's story:

What does it take to help every child feel a sense of belonging at summer camp?

For Maison Saint Columba House, the response to that meant creating an Integration Team that helped children with neurodivergent and behavioural support needs fully participate in summer camp. For one camper, that support led to a triumphant moment that ended with cheers from the whole pool deck.
