Happy Fun Fact Friday! ๐โโ๏ธโจ Today, we are throwing it back to a monumental moment in sports and women's history that completely rewrote the rules of what women are capable of achieving. ๐โ
Did you know? In 1967, Kathrine Switzer became the first woman to officially register, enter, and finish the Boston Marathon! ๐
At the time, it was widely and incorrectly believed that women were too fragile to run such long distances. In fact, mid-race, a race official physically tried to tear off her bib (number 261) and remove her from the course. But with the support of her teammates, she kept running and crossed that finish line. ๐๐
